The Chicana/o/x Calmecac
In the Mexica (Aztec) world, a calmecac was a place of formation — a community space where people gathered not only to learn, but to become. It was where knowledge, reflection, discipline, and service to community were woven together through daily practice and shared purpose.
Our Calmecac carries forward that spirit of learning in community. Here, the focus is on growth that is relational, practical, and grounded in care — for ourselves, for each other, and for the communities we serve.
This is not a course.
This is not a membership you passively consume.
This is a living space for ongoing reflection, learning, and connection based on the teachings and foundations of the Institute.
Whether you are exploring, practicing, or leading, the Calmecac is designed as a pathway — one that meets you where you are and invites you deeper over time.
Below is the listing of the first two levels of the Calmecac that will open soon. You are invited to enter at the level that fits you now, knowing that you can deepen your participation over time.
We look forward to you joining a space where we learn together, reflect together, and grow together.
The Calmecac is coming soon!
